Special Terms and Explanations

Ulaan Burhan: The evil one, the Guardian, the orgh's Bloodgod. The very soul of evil, served by worshippers and the bong. All who serve it are enemies.

The Stone Ghost: This spirit lives in the guildstone where it is invoked by the Agha-Khan to welcome a new member into the Horde. The spirit is made content by bringing gold and gems as sacrifices, as well as the heads and skulls of our enemies which are dried and shrunken as totems.

Tenger Etseg: Father Heaven. The great spirit that guides the Monggol.
Gazar Eej: Mother Earth. The source of all creation.
Erleg Khan: Ruler of the Lower World and son of Father Heaven.
Ulgen Khan: Ruler of the Upper World and son of Father Heaven.

Ger: The tent is the heart of the nomadic life, and thus the Monggol. Sadly, we are denied true gers (large round tents which have a campfire and a shrine within them) in Britannia so we make do with the wood and stone gers which the hans live in.

Kumis: An alcoholic beverage brewed in skins from horse milk. It is beloved of the nomads and they drink it whenever possible. It is stored in cider jugs.

Hans: Hans are any respectable people who are not Mongols. Clearly inferior, they are nonetheless reasonably civilised. (Derives from the ancient Chinese dynasty).
Speech Style

It is not expected that you be grammatically perfect in Mongolian. The above is a concoction of terms that should provide spice in constructing sentences. Try speaking as a non-native speaker might, with odd constructions and Monggol terms scattered through the sentence. You should use more Monggol words when with the Horde and moderate your use to the hans - they are not all that bright.

Examples:
Meh go aba olon bugas for get dere tulum. (I am going to hunt lots of deer for their leather).
Yuh bidagu. Yuh make meh agagla. (You are stupid. You make me weep).
URAGSHAA! (Excuse me one moment, I wish to strike you repeatedly about the head).

The above words were researched from various sources, primary among them being the Language Guide developed by Ogodei of the Oymak Batachikan and the Infosystem Mongolei Comparison of Turkish and Mongolian. The oymak language was of the southern Turkic derivation whereas the Golden Horde uses a more northern Tatar dialect as its root. Thanks are due to the authors of both sources.
