The
Rules of War
These rules for
members of the Golden Horde are based on those from the Europa
Role-Playing Association. They apply to the Horde whether or not an
enemy is a member of that organisation. Our declared enemies will be orange
to you as per the usual guild war procedure. In Felucca, other people
may attack you or you be involved in wider conflicts. These rules still
apply unless an attacker is shown to be a "coward". Cowards
(i.e. grief players interfering with your or other's play, non-RP thieves,
looters, PKs who attack without honour etc) may be looted as appropriate
- but in proportion to their crime.
All combats
should be by challenge. No Monggol will launch an unannounced attack
unless such a scenario has been agreed (i.e. an event where the participants
know there will be an ambush at some point). Opponents should be challenged
and invited to leave the disputed territory. An enemy who does so (for
whatever reason) is not a coward - the Monggol would consider him/her
wise. If the challenge is taken up, the attack may begin.
Do not kill or even attack logged out characters or players that are not
aware of the attack. If you suspect the opponent has disconnected, break
off the attack. If they are using this as a ruse, the next time they do
so you will be forgiven for pressing the attack. Never use a disconnection
ruse yourself - it is cowardly.
Always make the guild abbreviation visible to others, to avoid misunderstandings.
No Monggol should ever try to hide their heritage.
Enemies may not be forced to engage. If the opponent refuses combat, let
them leave the field and let them be. If they refuse to leave, it is still
accounted that they have surrendered. Do not concern yourself with the
conquered. In the unusual event of you not wanting to fight, make the reason
clear and leave the field. No member of the Horde should ever refuse combat,
no matter how outnumbered or unready. A tsereg fears not a thousand
hans, though he be armed with a damp straw. Indeed, the more outnumbered
the more glorious the story. The only reasons to refuse are if participating
in an urgent quest event or helping someone else (i.e. showing a newbie
to somewhere or helping a friend place a house, etc) or some RL domestic
reason (i.e. about to leave the game or your attention required).
Banks, towns and guarded areas are considered neutral territory and no
fighting should take place there. In addition, we consider the townships
and houses of our enemies to be sacred to them as our Tosgon is
to us. Unless agreed previously, no fighting may be taken into their homes
or the territory close nearby. This is dishonourable. Their homes will
burn when they are fully defeated and not before. Should an enemy prove
cowardly and attack you in the Tosgon, kill him and make a note
of his name. We are above such things, but many hans are not.
The Monggol do not loot. Anything. To loot an opponent is to declare
him coward and if they are not so, you are condemned in his place. Every
effort should be made to return items to the fallen. Most often, simply
leave his corpse alone. If there is a danger of third parties looting,
you are permitted to remove the belongings for safekeeping, returning
them as soon as possible to your enemy. Some enemies may loot a small
amount from you in accordance with the rules of ERPA. If more is taken,
report the player and we shall take steps to ensure it does not repeat.
When killed, you may resurrect and return to your body to retrieve your
belongings. You must keep wearing your death robe and retire from the
battle and take no further part. You may of course, watch from a distance.
You should not talk or interfere in any way, including sending ICQ messages.
If any participant in the battle emotes *CEASE* you must stop the
battle. Reasons for this are suspicions about onlookers, real life emergency
etc. Once this is done, the battle should be rescheduled for a later time.
Report anyone you consider is using this stop-word frivolously.
Remember, the objective of our participation in PvP is to have fun, not
to bolster a weak ego. Any out-of-charcater boasting, taunting or complaining
will carry a heavy penalty. Don't rise to pettiness from others. Die often
and with glory. After all, you won't have any magic items to lose, and
you may well gain a glorious story and fame everlasting! |
